Endcliffe: Deluxe Rooms?

Hi,

I was researching the various roomtypes at Endcliffe Village, and although I've visited a standard en-suite room as part of a departmental open day, I was interested in the Deluxe rooms.. Can anyone possibly tell me how much bigger these deluxe rooms are, and whether they think it's worth paying the extra?

Any photos of either the standard or deluxe rooms would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Deluxe rooms have a double bed, but not much increased floor space. I think the bathrooms are bigger too, also less people in a flat (only 4). And for some reasons, the flats have Yale type locks so they lock behind, whereas standard flats don't

My flat door auto locked - all of those in my block did so I don't think it depends on deluxe.

- I don't think the deluxe are worth the money, the bed is bigger, yes but the rest of the space is pretty much the same. The bathroom is bigger but the shower is still not a seperate cubical.
The rest of your flat will probably have the standard room, and it won't be that different.

Standard rooms are fab anyway, miss mine so much even now

ah okay, must be different in some of the other blocks. Ours are split so there are 2 flats per floor, one flat is 6 standard, and on the other side it's 4 deluxe (and the door opposite ours on the landing autolocks :P).

Yours might autolock as well, it might be the door mechanism. Ours didn't autolock for the first 5 weeks of Uni, but then someone came around pulled out the mecanism and made it auto lock.
As far as I know all of the flat doors should do it automatically.

I was just wondering about these. I don't know whether to apply for one or not. If it's a bigger room (more floorspace), then maybe, but if it's just a bigger bed then there doesn't seem to be much point. Wish they had better pics of it.
I applied for an en-suite, solely because i think a deluxe room would be less sociable if theres only 4 sharing? thats my thinking, anyway!

Even if you apply for deluxe, you will probably end up not getting one (like me).

It's all about the Stevo.

Nope, unless every single floor in all 3 of the Cratcliffe blocks are broken in the same way :/

I assumed that it meant there was more floorspace, and a bigger bed, so at the end the amount of available floorspace is the same.

OP, if you're a tall person i would suggest going with the deluxe for the larger bed. I know they're not any longer, but it's easier to curl up a little and sooooo much comfier.
Otherwise, meh. It's not a huge amount more expensive i guess. Wish i could afford it, it's just out of reach.

Yeah, no joke they actually might be. Some of the ones in howden would only autolock when this peice of metal was removed from the inner door - the builders had bodged it.
Although it might just be Cratcliffe - I don't know too much about that block as I mainly used to do tours round the areas undergrads lived.
