What do you need to get DDM?

In an 18 unit BTEC ND, how many D's and M's do you need?

any idea? i currently have 9 distinctions and 3 merits, i'm yet to be graded on the last four units

but i'm guessing i'm going to get P, M, M, D, although you can never be sure!

I understand that your uni's require DDM but why not aim for DDD?

DDD looks so much better than DDM.

I've been on track for DDD and got all D's in my first year, but I've been really ill since starting second year, I'm barely ever in college but trying my damned hardest to keep ontop of my work, obviously I can't get top marks this way through :/

I understand but don't let that put you off / make you behind.

Thank you, I am trying my best, but I just want to know what I need to get DDM to put myself at ease a little bit. The BTEC has changed this year so I've heard but the internet doesn't say much in the way of the grading changing, if they have (ie, D = 18 points, 252 points make DDD, etc) :s-smilie:

Heya. I'm currently a mature student on my first year of a BTEC Nat. Diploma course. Not that it matters. Anyway, a lecturer of mine gave me a program that keeps track of your grades and calculates your final grade, along with the number of UCAS points awarded. If you'd like a copy of it, just give me a PM and i'll send it to you via MSN or some 'shiz'.

Found it very helpful in keeping my motivated

P.S. It turns out that in order to get a 'DDD' one must only acquire 6 D's and 12 M's over the course of the 2 years. Easy!

I went through the calculator with my tutor last week last week... and I've looked at my list of units, and for some reason it only says I've got 17 units here :s

I have 9 D's and 3 M's to date, it says even if I get 5 P's in the last 5 units left to be asessed I will get DDM, surely this can't be right?!

I only had 17 units too, one of our units was a project and counted as double, so you received double the tariff points for you grade, I.e a Dist in the project equated to 36 BTEC tariff points

And yes that sounds about right, If you do really well in your first year of BTEC, even if you don't do all to well the second year, you're still very likely to get a high grade

Did start the BTEC September 2009 or 2010? If it is under the new BTEC qualification than you could D*s so your guessing that you get on more D, 2Ms, and a P. ( If there (10x9)+(5x8)+(1x7)> 90+40+7= 137>137x10=1,370 MPP
Are any of there any double units? Are you at at Uni is it a ND or a HND? If it is a HND it is graded differently.

how many distinctions, merits and passes do I need to receive a DDM? :/

Hi, to my knowledge for a triple distinction grade at the end of your two year course, you will require all passes, 12 merits and 6 distinctions. Over two years with a lot of different units you can spread it out easily and should be able to get this grade no problem, as long as you use your referrals and time well.
