Should I report my friend for not having a TV license?

I saw a pic on his Facebook this evening and there was a television in full view on his desk in halls. From what I remember of him at school, he was hardly the type of person who would bother with a TV license. I'm of half a mind to report him to the licensing agency, so that they can do a proper investigation by going round to his halls and checking whether he has a license. It just annoys me that I paid £140+ for one, and he may not have done.

no, waste of time.
why would you want to get him in trouble?

also, this has been mentioned endlessly... they cannot enter the property unless they have a warrant, which they will never bother to get. they just use scare tactics.

furthermore, getting past university security and actually to his door may be even more difficult

No.
Unless you're really that sadistic and bitter.
Enjoy not having any friends if you do

You have no proof he hasn't paid and if he is your friend, you suck ass at the friendship game.
LOL

Yeah report him, it'd be a hoot.

Don't rat your friend out for that, if it bothers you so much then tell him to pay for it yourself! You don't want him to get charged extra especially since he is a student. How many students actually pay their tv licenses anyway? If they were that worried about it they would do more checks on student halls!

If he's a friend, no. Just give him some friendly encouragement to buy a licence, and perhaps remind him about the potential for fines.

At halls we constantly get reminders to pay the tv license/FINAL WARNINGS that they're coming around to search. Quite frankly, they can't. It's up to the uni/us to let them in..so even if you did nothing would come of it?

Also that's a really harsh thing to do. The fine is several hundred, if not thousands, of pounds?! Can't you just ask them to pay it or bitch them out rather than potentially financially ruining them..

So, you think they should investigate him because you can see he's got a TV and he "doesnt seem like the person" to pay for a license.

Firstly, you're a douche of a friend.
Secondly, the picture is not proof he even used the TV for viewing live broadcasts.
Thirdly, you have no proof he has no license.
Finally, you're being a douche for thinking about reporting your friend! Just ignore it - who cares.

Firstly, I'd hardly call him your friend, and secondly, you've no proof. Stop being silly.
Why on earth would you want to? I can't see what possible benefit there is in it for you? Getting him fined is not going to get your money back.

Besides, he might be entirely innocent - he may have a license, he may just use the TV for DVDs etc.

Don't be a penis. Why would you shop your mate? I wouldn't even do that to someone I hated.

What are the chances of getting caught not having a TV license?
