Sociology and Social policy
which are you doing?
oo also which accomodation have you applied for?
Any info on Woodland? Looks fantastic, but I hear there's a bit of a stigma going around that Bath students assume you're a snob if you're there!

damn, i didnt think to put 2nd and 3rd choice in the additional information box :s-smilie:, i just chose woodland

If i cancel my application now and reapply with my 2nd and 3rd choice, would that be risky? im scared i might get something i really dont want.

Woodland is nice, kitchen groups tend to be either large (15-18) or small (6-7), I'm in a kitchen of 15, you're more likely to get a big group than a smaller one. The only problem with this is that the big kitchens are really underequiped, one small oven and grill between 15, one kettle, one toaster etc. Having the bigger bed is nice, more wardrobe space in woodland too (although no doors, which is annoying at times because it just makes everything look messy) Bathrooms are ok, showers are fairly weak. Entrance is a bit annoying (library cards not keys) and you cant get into the main building unless you live there which can be irritating if people come visit you/you forget your library card. I live in woodland at the moment and as lovely as it is, if I were to apply again I'd probably go for solsbury/marlborough. Solsbury/marlborough because they're just as nice as woodland just without the bigger bed and have a more homely feel I think (carpets, generally warmer and feel less like a hotel room).
I'm doing sociology!
I haven't applied yet for accomodation :s-smilie: i need to get my act together, which one have you applied for?

I wouldn't cancel - by all accounts it's done first come first serve - you could try emailing the accommodation dept. and explaining.

Besides (and trust me on this) all of the accommodation is fine! It's more about the people than the place
Darn, is it really first come first serve? :frown:
Do I need to apply for accomadation if bath is my insurance?

Well, if you don't get into your firm, you'll be fine as long as you apply before the 13 th of August.

But results day isn't until the 19th August, does that mean I will have to apply for accomodation now?

Does anyone know when the deadline is for applying for accomodation????

I don't think you can apply for accommodation for your insurance. I've put Reading as my insur. and they haven't sent me anything to do with it. I think it's just luck of the draw if you're unlucky to get into your firm..

On a general note, I applied for Solsbury/Marlborough 3 weeks ago-ish. I hope this was early enough to get a place! I really want to be able to get in to those, as they look comfortable.

Thanks for saying that  that's really reassuring to me! If you don't mind me asking, where were you? I don't know whether this has been asked before..
How many places can you apply for?
I've applied for Westwood so far..

Am I the only one that's applied to Eastwood?! haha!

I've put Bath down as my firm. Guys, i hate to break it to you but your accomodation is not allocated until the recieves your official result (5th July for IB sutdents, 14th August?? for you guys doing A levels). I went to the accomodation office while I was there to discuss, if there is no space left in your first choice you are randomly assigned another accomodation. From what I hear Westwood is one of the most friendly accomodations...

pheww.... i was beginning to worry! i've forgotten my password and have to wait even longer now! lol

I haven't been to bath yet but im putting M/S first and then Westwood second - me thinks.

I don't think you can go on what you've heard about past years because they don't know what the new lot are gonna be like!!!
