I'd leave it a couple of days or something, but generally since I work 3 or 4 evenings a week it would have to fit around that and my uni work.

I hate this whole 'wait a few days before calling' and 'don't seem over eager'. Stop playing games.
If you like the guy, pick an evening when you're free - whether it be the next day, or a week away. Pick the day that works best for you. Alternatively you could ask him to pick, as you're not sure about your plans yet.

A guy who asks the girl, to pick the day, can start to lead the guy to ask the girl about every choice, girl is going to think theyre a sissy
