It's meant to be "random". I applied on the day applications opened last year and ended up getting my second choice (Rosebery), while others didn't even get their third. It's more to do with what you select as your "priorities" when you apply..but I'd still advise you to apply early because spaces are allocated on a rolling basis. Also, this year, I think most people have been getting their first choice (from what I can see).

Um, I think you need to be holding LSE as a firm choice to apply...not 100% sure though.

Well don't you have to firm any university to sort out accommodation? If you end up going to your insurance, I assume you get the dregs left by the people that firmed and sorted it beforehand :P

after getting the offer, I'm just scared that they'll change my single room to a twin, since I wrote on the application form that I didn't mind changing the type of room that I hold;p
