:puke: at the thought of fried bread

I'm guessing it's pretty bad for you as all fried food is, with it being bread it soaks up the oil which means you are consuming more oil.

I would assume frying it in butter would make it more unhealthy as butter is known to be higher in cholesterol/fat whatever than olive oil/vegetable oil.

It's delicious but it's about as unhealthy as food gets. It's bread that soaks up tonnes of oil and is then fried.

Reply 5

Nothing that nice can be good for you.

Reply 6

It is unhealthy but remember
The feeling of skinny will never taste as good as fried bread

Reply 7

I normally use a small amunt of oil and it works just fine.

Like others have pointed out, it's so yummy.....but most things in life that are yummy are usually packed with calories and high in fat! Life is cruel :frown:

I've got a bit of an obsession with grilled cheese sandwiches, which involves the frying of bread on both sides. yummmm.

Reply 13

Why is everyone so obsessed with healthy food on here.
Eat it if it tastes good, just dont gorge yourself to obesity.

Fried bread is nice, so screw how bad it is for you.
You only live once.

^ If it tastes bad, it must be good for you! Fried bread :coma: :coma: :coma:

Reply 15

Use butter ffs. Its gonna be unhealthy whatever, so why not do it properly.

Back in the good old days, my mum used to fry the bread in lard!. I feel ever so slightly ill at the thought of using lard to fry anything these days.
