Left Side of My Face Looks Differernet To The Right Side

Has this happened to anyone else? When I look in the mirror (infact I've noticed this for some time now) my left side looks... Well... Ugly (to me at least) and the right side of my face looks fine. (looking from a 90 degree angle for both sides, you know, half front, and half side)

Why is this? The left side looks so... dull and gives the impression that I'm tired. It also looks thicker, like chubbyer should I say, but I don't think thats it either.

Is it just me? Or has anyone else noticed this about themselves?

Everyone has that. It depends on whether you're a "left or right" brained person. You can read a lot of interesting articles on the Asymmetry of Left and Right Brains in Psychology journals. Most research finds it's because the left side is more expressive but again, depends on your brain.

I see, so its only a mental thing, and its not really how it looks? Or did I understand wrong. (also, is that a bad thing, being a left of right brained person?) Which side would that make me then? Being that I see the left side as the ugly side.

It's not how you see it. It's how it is - everyone's face is asymmetrical in the slightest way. It's not a bad thing to be right or left brained. Typically "left brained" people are better at logical, sequential, rational, analytical and objective learning. They are better at focusing on things in parts rather than the whole.

Interestingly enough, a lot of Right Brain people are left handed. They tend to be the artists, musicians, etc. This is because they're better at random, intuitive, holistic, synthesizing and subjective learning. They look at things as "the big picture" and not break it into parts.

Most people are more of one than the other but have a touch of both

Nobody has a completely symmetrical face, and if you look at your face using two or more mirrors everything looks more crooked (your teeth for example!).

Don't worry about it.

Picture. I expect that you're the only person to notice as well. A lot of people seem to think that one side is different, but I don't see it in them.

If you had a perfectly symmetrical face you'd look really weird. E.g. http://www.shuttertalk.com/forums/images/upload/BrandonMirrorC.jpg

i have different eye widths, not everyone is totally symmetrical! Look at foot and leg lengths, theyre always different on different sides.

Relax, trust me, you would be far uglier if both sides of your face were the same!

Whoever posted the picture has got it right. You would look like an utter crock if your face was 100% symmetrical.

It's because you want people to see your better side, dahhhhling.

He is a bit weird looking in the first place. Any chance you have a picture of a normal man or woman?

It's not just you.
My right facial cheek is bigger than my left and one eye is slightly bigger than the other.

Normal, methinks.
