If my results are bad and i decide to resit a few modules to boost my overall grade, am I lessening my chances of getting into one of the 'top' universities? I have rejected my university offers and am going to reapply. Am i better off reapplying with the grades I get tomorrow, or with resits?

Wait and see what you get. If you do get low grades it would be better to resit, but with higher ones it might not.

Also, try to do something else with your year. You can learn something new, or go travelling, or get a job, but do something!

And maybe in a few weeks email specific unis and ask them what they prefer.
