I'm hopefully going to oxford in October, so I am abit nervous about tomorrow but my college rang me up and said they had a look at my results, could tell me what they were but asked if I could come in early to have some pictures taken and take from that what I can. So the optimist inside me says I got in, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this, I cant decide if I’m happy about this or not the knowing early bit that is.

Alternatively, it's the heart-wrenching article of a young, aspiring scientist who misses out on his Oxford offer by a single grade, and must now be banished to the abyss of Durham

Surely what the college did is illegal? That didn't happen on GCSE day at our school even though one girl got 11 A*'s.

I don't it would be illegal as he wans't told his results... he was just asked to have some photographs which gave him a thought that he might have got into Oxford.

Hey, well done! You wouldn't have been asked to pose for photos if you hadn't got in.

That happened to a girl last year. She got called up to be asked for a photo opportunity.
She got ABB- the only reason she got called in was because her A was the highest in N.Ireland.....

Yay well done! I think I'd be half happy to know early and half disappointed to lose the surprise element and finding out with everyone else
