Nope. You should definitely weigh more according to your height.... don't you feel hungry? o-0

Define "bit of a problem"?

It's an okay weight if it's natural...

Sometimes if I think that a food is bad for me, then I will make myself throw it back up. Its not all the time only a couple of times per month...because the rest of the time I eat healthily and keep carbs to a minimum. I exercise a lot..ie yesterday I had two bowls of cereal and a bow of soup...which i felt was quite a lot for me.

Making yourself sick would make you bulimic, rather than anorexic. Although it doesn't sound like you eat loads - is this on purpose, to actively lose more weight?

Not especially, I only eat when hungry and I dont feel like i need to eat piles and piles to feel full. Though I do perhaps eat a little less than I want to...but not massively so.

I think the key thing is listening to your body, eating when you're hungry is healthy. However if you're starting to change behaviours in the hopes of controlling your weight, don't let it spiral out of control.
Bulimia is certainly not worth it. It will rot your teeth, ruin your digestive system, makes you bloat, bursts blood vessels... amongst other awful effects... and at the end of all of that, it doesn't even get rid of all the food anyway.

I'd say that's not too bad tbh. Just don't lose anymore weight. :hmmm:

Weight doesn't mean anything if you are forcing your body to stay where it doesn't want to be...ie. by vomiting and over-exercising and restricting your food.

Your BMI may be "healthy" but its borderline underweight and if you carry on with your unhealthy behaviours it is more than likely you will become underweight in no time at all. The ideal BMI is 21 so you are far from normal, and the fact that you even posted suggests you know in your heart of hearts you have some kind of eating disorder, even if not strictly anorexia or bulimia nervosa.

I suggest you visit your GP as soon as possible. Ask for a blood test (vomiting is dangerous) and some psychological support if you feel strong enough. Otherwise you should speak to a friend or family member who can get you the help you need.

Take care

Although BMI isn't the be all and end all of everything at 5ft 9 weighing 9 stone your BMI would be 18.6, that is on the very low end of a normal weight for your height. You wouldn't meet the accepted criteria for a diagnosis of anorexia based on this. Anorexia is usually diagnosed at a BMI of 17.5 or less. I was diagnosed with anorexia 6 years ago at a BMI of about 15 and I'm back at that now. I massively regret wasting 6 years of my life so far being completely wrapped up in being as emaciated as possible.

It doesn't sound to me like you have a really anorexic mentality, although you are obviously going through some sort of other unspecified eating disorder. Like others have said the fact that you realise your eating habits aren't totally normal says something. I'd also encourage you to go and speak to your GP and see if they can refer you somewhere for some extra support, this is a long process but I'm sure it would be worth it. I currently attend therapy, although on a private basis, and it has helped me a lot so far. Although yes I have had setbacks and I am still very much 'ill' I do feel generally happier in myself.

Not necessarily - Anorexia has a binge-purge subtype. Although eating disorders are quite interchangeable anyway.

OP, I would see your GP if you can. Regardless of your weight, your eating behaviours don't sound healthy.

I think if you read the diagnostic criteria for anorexia, that one is included, although obviously it is not the only basis for a diagnosis. http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Anorexia-Nervosa.htm.

yeh well it all depends... cos my friend is 5"9 and 7 stone but she is healthy cos thats her natural weight shes never dieted in her life and eats normally.
but the thing is if that weight is unusual for u and u are have bad self esteem and think u should lose weight thats bad :s-smilie:
dont worry about it if u are fine how u are/ dont mind if u put on a bit of weight and eat healthily but if u have just lost weight and are having problems i would say maybe talk to yr friends about it and ask them to keep an eye on u, and keep an eye on urself because if the weight keeps dropping then u have a problem and at least ur friends will already kno about it.
i would say just watch out for urself at least u have recognised its a bit low already.

Are you kidding me? That's all you had in one day?
I hope that's not regular.
And if you're exercising, you need more calories than normal, just to maintain a healthy weight.
I do think you should talk to a GP.
