In my long term relationship we'd text on and off throughout the day if we weren't going to see each other, and we'd always speak on the phone before bed if we weren't together. I think too much could have become pretty suffocating, but each to their own I guess.

i see my boyfriend most days, probably 4 or 5 out of 7 so we don't really text during the day unless it's something important. if i don't see him that day he will normally phone me at night before i go to bed

depends, if hes got credit, quite a bit... if he hasnt... ill text him goodnight, as for phoning? maybe once in the evening? but that again depends on credit :s-smilie:

I see him everyday, and stay around his on the weekends so I guess I mostly text him when I am at Uni or at work.

When we were together, we'd never phone each other unless it was something important, but would text each other a few times during the day. When we were apart, texts went to five/six/seven or so, but a lot of them were "seen this, thought of you!", and then we'd speak every night before bed too.

We're apart during the week, so maybe like 4/5 times in the day, then MSN/Skype til about 10, but not constant chat because we're normally both doing work (and have food/COD/Sims to do) and then probably about 30mins-1hr on the phone at night.

See my boyfriend every day during the time we are at uni, during the holidays, like now, we text or msn every day, and phone maybe every three or four days.

Reply 8

live with mine so i never need to call/text him

Reply 9

Call every night, text a lot during the day.... We are in a long distance relationship though!

Reply 10

I text my boyfriend on and off all day, really  We both like it like that. I don't call him as often because I don't like talking on the phone that much, but we usually speak every two or three days.

Reply 11

See him most days, but we always call to say goodnight and morning text

Reply 12

Well I see him most days in 6th form, but for a few hours. The times I don't see him, we text a bit, but usually at home we're both online, so chat on and off then.
It'd change when we go uni - a lot more texting / phonecalls, I think!

texting is hassle.

we ring each other all the time haha! every few hours pretty much

i used to my ex all the time, like several times a day. so never bothered texting/ringing her. in the holidays though i'd ring her up every couple of days for a chat.

current girl i'm with i'll text once or twice a day in the holidays.
ring her up once or twice a week during uni, but see her most days in lectures anyway, and a couple of times a week outside that, so not much point texting/ringing her

LDR so we text pretty regular throughout the day and then talk on skype most nights for anything from 10 minutes to 3 hours. Occasional phone call if one of us is out one night, so dont have laptop for skype, normally just to say goodnight.

In a LDR right now during the holidays, and as we live together during term time, the difference is really stark. For communication at the moment, we don't do much texting, 1 or 2 generally during the day; and sometimes none. It's mostly due to him though, he doesn't like texting as it takes time... often he calls me just to reply

Then at night, it's skype for 30-60minutes before we turn in to bed.

Communication is key, especially in a LDR. Some people may find it a bit excessive but I wouldn't tolerate any less really.

Not much. If we're not seeing eachother for a while we'll sometimes talk on msn but not all the time. Normally not so much later on in a relationship, it seems with me to be a slight insecurity thing at first. I'll sometimes text good morning/good night, usually only if we're going to be seeing eachother/have seen eachother that day just to put a yay seeing you later kinda thing or something about the day we had
I'll text randomly in the middle of the day though if something happens that I think they would find funny or i find out something interesting, and they do the same in most cases

Oh Gawd, well we text each other maybe once a day, but talk on MSN/Skype for hourse every evening. We only text so little as it's so expensive (I'm in the UK for the 6 months of the year that I don't live with him and my home is in Turkey, which is rather expensive on texts) however calls are ok, as I can call him on his landline from my second mobile for 5p per minute with Vodafone.

See him most days, but will text once or twice at work and ring while on my break. Then speak two or three times during the night, and usually on msn for hours. Not constantly talking though.
