    Hi, I got a B for my AS-level physics.

    Max. uniform mark Uniform mark
    Unit 1 100 83
    Unit 2 100 78
    Unit 3 100 70

I got 231 for my total uniform marks.

240 is the boundary for an A.
For each paper the A grade was 80 uniform marks.

What should I do? Should i remark all the papers and hope for a better result or should I resit? The problem is I want to do medicine and I am hoping to drop physics this year.....I don't want a B to leave a negative impression for admission tutors. HELP

I'd get them remarked if i were you. I was 7 UMS marks off an A for my chemistry and im going to get my chem papers remarked. If you get them remarked and you're still unhappy with the results then you can resit.

    I'm in the same situation.
    PHY1 76/90
    PHY2 74/90
    PHY3 78/120
PHY3 was a C and the other 2 were As so I might try for a remark, see what my teachers think and that. Do you have to pay for remarks?

1 mark off A in History, 2 marks off A in English Lit. You reckon it'd be worth remarking, or will they already have scraped as much of the barrel as they could for me?

And can you retake if you get them remarked?

Man, they your grades? That's so harsh getting so close to A's! You doing A2's or just AS's?

Well done man, they are amazing grades anyway!

Just ASs, thankfully! But yeh, getting so close is a kick in the teeth - but I got As in both French and German. That said, my German teacher's will want my balls on a plate for not taking it next year!

Or should I just continue to study physics for A-level and hope for the best? By the way, I thought that resits were "frowned upon" for admission tutors/universities or something?

I have a similar problem. I got an overall B (220/300) for history, which I'd be OK with were it not for the fact that I got a D (50/90) for Unit 2, which I thought I'd done really well on. Everyone did worse than expected on that paper, so I'll probably ask for my paper back, get my teachers to look at it and then either have it remarked or resit.
