compare the o-level papers with gcse's papers.
o-level papers were about before gcse's appeared, and were also taken when you were 16.
o-level papers are equivalent to this year alevel papers.
    Whatever the subject.

I wouldn't disagree that exams are getting easier at all, if that is what the stats are saying. I think its appaulling that we are not at the same level as someone 20 years ago, because we should be, there shouldn't be a difference between B back then and a B now. So I don't mind when they say that because its probably true, it doesn't bother me all that much.

    But thats just me.

O levels were bad though, because it was so exam based and alot of people failed O levels. They weren't good.

To be honest i think gcses are quite easy. I'm not a straight A student but i still think gcses don't stretch the most able students, i mean come on 14% in Maths to get a C is ridiculous.

It was only 15% for a C because they set the exam ridiculously hard.

Yup I beleive the grade boundaries on the OCR higher paper for Maths starts at:

    Below 60% - U

    60%-C
    70%-A
    85%-A*

They then obviously play with it!

What exam board is 15% for a C on- is that this year?

Perhaps that is because the paper was easier when you took it?

Is that your prediction for this years paper then? What happened to the b grade award? I didn't realise that they'd scapped it!

    Sorry I meant-

    C- 60%
    B-70%
    A-80%
    A*-85%

And they are what the OCR maths ones always start out as but then the exam board shifts them depending on how well people did!
