The Student Room Group

Master of Finance and Investments (Rotterdam School of Management)

Hi,

I want to do this program next year, but I'm worried that it may be very competitive (maximum number of students: 80).

It's a good program, and is very cheap compared to pretty much all other master's finance programs.

I graduated from a good Dutch university with an average grade of just below an 8 (cum laude). I'm going to do my GMAT in a months, and I'm hoping to get ~700.

What do you guys think my chances are?

It doesn't look like there's anyone around who understands the Dutch marking system enough to be able to say...

The only way you'll find out what your chances are is to apply - and if you comfortably exceed their minimum requirements, have a strong academically focused supporting statement, and really good academic references, it's unlikely that you would fall at the first fence.

I've applied to the same for 2010 intake. My GMAT score is 620 and average academic grades are B+. My motivation letter is pretty good, in my opinion. I don't think RSM wants reference letter for this course.

What are the chances of me getting in? Anyone?

I just sent my application. I ended up with a 770 for my GMAT, but after emailing the university I was told that they accept students on a first come first serve basis (i.e. if you meet the GMAT and GPA requirements you're automatically accepted if the program isn't full).

I really hope I'm not too late. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

BTW no references are required.

With 770 in GMAT, shouldn't you be applying to better Universities? May be you have? I'm just saying! If I had 770, I would be something like this -> :woo:

lol maybe you're right, but I can't justify spending almost 30,000 euro on the same education. RSM is relatively well known and costs less than my high school did (I'm an EU student).

Nite41, when did you apply? Let us know if you get in!

Do you mean the MIF program from the Amsterdam Business School? I was thinking of going there too, but again its very expensive.

Hi,

RSM sounds like a good choice for you, if you want to read more about 'lifestyle' type stories about RSM you could head to BusinessBecause.com and search for RSM - they have a few stories about the school (mostly the MBAs).

Best of luck with getting in!

EXCITED!! I got in to the MSc in Finance programme at ESADE Business School, Spain. I think it's a much better choice than MSc in Real Estate Investment from Cass. Rotterdam said no to me :-(
