Eyes going out of focur while reading...

Whenever I try to read something (although it doesn't seem to happen what I'm reading stuff on the computer), I often find it difficult to keep my eyes in focus. I'm okay for a while... like maybe 10 minutes or so, but after that it's like my eyes get tired and need a rest.

Sometimes it doesn't happen - the other day I read for hours with no problems, but other times it's even worse...

I don't know if it's because I'm tired, there's not enough light, or if I need reading glasses... If I get a good night's sleep then the problem isn't so bad; but really it shouldn't happen at all should it? :frown:

When did you last have an eye test? If you havent had one recently, make an appointment and see what they say. Make sure you are sitting in good light when reading (not too bright, not too dark) as this can create problems.

Too much W*nking mate  Just kidding.

Certainly sounds like you need to make a trip to the opticians, I reckon you might need new specs!

I don't remember EVER having an eye test. But the thing is if I do then I'll be find, cos the problem is only if I'm reading at length.

Also I'm worried that if I get reading glases my eyes will become used to being out of focus so I won't be able to see properly when I'm not reading! :frown: I don't want to have to wear glasses all the time...

You say the problem is only if your reading at arms lenghth...so maybe you're long sighted, in which case you'll only need glasses for when your looking at things near...like reading, so you won't need them all the time

It is best to get them checked my an optician

you might be slightly long sighted

Do you have lazy eyes? That happens to me because I can't focus on an object with both my eyes very easily. :frown:

No I can focus on stuff fine... it only really happens when I'm reading, although I don't think I'm long-sighted... I can't read stuff that's very far away. Maybe I'm very very very slightly long-sighted but would that account for my dodgy reading ability?

By the way I have to pay for an eye test which is gonna put me off for a while

I had that problem, turns out I was slightly short sighted in one eye, and it should jsut clear itself up.

I've had it for at least a year though :frown: I sorta comes & goes... sometimes it's worse than other times.

yeah, mines like that, you could always look at laser eye surgery if they wont give you glasses
