help with NEC?

So....I got my results yesterday. I got a B at A level Psych and an A at AS Sociology. It's the end of my 2nd yr at college but I've only got one A level for various reasons. Anyway, this sept I'm going to start A2 Sociology so I'll havan A level in that by May. I really want a 3rd A level becasue of the competition for places at uni. I want to finish my A level in Philosophy but no colleges/schools in my area do the course. I was thinking of teaching myself through the NEC (part of the open uni) but I'm not sure whether this is a good idea. I could alternatively do A2 English or A2 computing....which I have AS grades in but i really dislike these subjects.
I'm hoping to do Psychology with philosophy at uni.....
Any comments......experience with the NEC?

I've tried NEC, and I found it really wearing and not too helpful, particularly don't study foreign languages with them. It's also expensive. If you're going to do it, be prepared to be self-educated and determined. You'll also have to find some school doing to agree to sit you as an external candidate for exams, which can be difficult (especially course-work) and costs you again.

My grades started improving after I'd quit the NEC and enrolled on a flexible course with a college about an hour's travel away. I didn't have to go to the college very often, but the tutors were helpful and I had a lot of the benefits of an internal student. Try and find out if there's a college in your city doing the course you want, that'll agree to that.

What ever you do, good luck!
