Can someone please explain to me why these always turn out absolutely awful? I just had some taken to send off with my accommodation forms and they looked absolutely vile. Then I looked in the mirror next to the booth and I looked fine. I don't get it

lol, i know exactly wot ur on about. it makes all the darker areas of your face darker and all the light areas lighter!
When I got my new passport, I gave them my gorgeous photos with the declaration on the back, but they told me they were too small, so had to get new ones. They looked awful, but I needed a fast track passport. When I collected it the next day, they'd used my old too small but lovely photos...
I got some done today and they're terrible! My eyes just look wrong on them and my face is white. I really do hope everybody's are terrible so that I don't feel so bad..... x
If you want decent passport photos, avoid photo booths! I got my passport renewed recently, and got a set of photos done at a local photography shop (the sort that sells cameras, develops photos etc.). They take the picture with a digital camera, show you the result on a screen and if you don't like it they will re-take... The result was the best set of passport photos I've ever had - I actually look human and the colours look life-like! It was only £5 for a set of four pre-cut photos, so pretty good value too. I would definitely recommend it.

Yeah I'm in Dubai at the moment and everyone does that here with their passport photos! You can also pay a bit more and theyll airbrush the photos for you - everyone always looks STUNNING in their passport pics
and i was saying how in the UK everyone just uses the polaroid photo booths and they looked at me like i was crazy. nice.

Perhaps I'll do that next time I renew my passport - I have a feeling I'll need the airbrushing by then! Still, it could be a bit dangerous if the photo is so stunning that the customs people think that it's someone else's passport .
air brushing your photos makes you look more wonderful lol... wellp at least the face in my yearbook was airbrushed cuz if it wasn't then i would be in a big trouble
