Uni and doctor

How does it work about moving doctors? as I spoke to the receptionist today and she said that once i've moved i have to leave the doctor here and sign on at sheffield...but that's fine during term time however when i'm back over the summer how do i get my repeat meds i can't go back every 3wks just to pick up tablets! the receptionist said she didnt know how it works over summer but said id probably not be allowed on the books here as i dont live her often enough!

you can get a temporary registration thingy when you go back home for the summer. every doctors sugery will let you sign on to that.

but if thats too much hassle and all you want is repeat presciptions, you just have to mail the request to your uni doctor with a stamped, self addresed envelope for them to post it back to you - in the end only takes a few days.
Yeah you can register as a temporary patient. I do that when I come home from uni and need to go see the nurse/doctor. It really shouldn't be any problem  maybe the receptionist has never had anyone ask that before so didn't really know what to say.

Hmm although if it's a repeat prescription you may have to go see the doctor the first time before they'll issue the script for you.
