What's so great about them? People have been wearing t-shirts under polo shirts for ages and I'm sure I saw t-shirts like the ones described a long time ago. The only thing I've noticed is that River Island seems to be full of cheap-looking ugly tops like that. Phew, I almost bought one.

i like them  (well, i don't dislike them...)

i've never met this kind of hatred for these tops before. they still clog up stores, even if they are getting a bit boring now... i have a few which will last me until winter...

Meh, I got a layered polo the other day (I'd been given some Next vouchers I had to spend). They don't look chavvy or anything, as far as I can tell (at least not with me wearing one, hehe).

I work in a small mens clothes store. It was makes like henleys and old glory that first started doing all these tshirts about 18 months ago. All the fashionable people were coming in buying them then and then this summer envy and republic started ripping them off for the followers to buy! Hence they are the best places to buy them.
P.s If any of you own a tokyo laundry tshirt from republic, shame on you. Theyve ripped off Superdry, one of the most fashionable labels at the mo
