Yeh, yours is high, go to the docs.

Reply 2

I'm sure mine is usually that fast...

*checks*

88 beats per min was mine... so yeah, maybe a little fast!!

Reply 3

Blimey, my heart currently beats exactly half the amount yours does in a day!

Reply 4

Whos - mine or theirs??

Is mine fast??

Reply 5

I don't know..

Untrained heart-rates are genetic, girls have a higher RHR on average, caffeine intake plays a part, theres a whole load of stuff to think about.

I believe the best time to get an accurate indication of your resting heart rate is immediately after you wake up, as that is when you are in your most relaxed state.

Reply 7

During sleep is the best time apparantly, but is a bit difficult to do as you can imagine, as it means falling asleep with your heart-rate monitor on, not a cool thing to do is it?

Reply 8

lol i think your heart beat goes way slow when your ssleeping.. although it is a resting rate lol

I have a high heart rate and surges of reaaaally fast and irregular beats. They stuck a 24 hour ecg on me and at one point it peaked at 160 bpm and that was while I was asleep

Doctor said it was me getting all stressed and panicky about things and gave me a course of Atenolol to slow it down. If you have got an unusally high heart rate it is worth getting it checked out especially if you have other symptoms with it such as dizziness, irregular/fluttery heart beats, shakiness and chest pain.

oh its 78 this time, still fast though Id say. Some of you on here have quite high too

Reply 11

60-80 is generally considered the 'normal range' for a resting heartbeat. Fit people may have resting heart rates in the low 40's.

Reply 12

Woah my resting rate was over 100, and my doc loves simply telling me to relax. Condenscending twit.

at the start of the summer holidays i had an aim to reduce my heart rap by 10bpm by the end. unless a miracle has occured, that has not happened. damn.
