What happens if you miss a first or s 2:1 by one mark?
Can you get your paper remarked?
Will it be by the same person who marked it first time around?
Is there an external governing body who monitors these things?

Very interesting.

In fact, I spoke to someone who was an ex-examiner in college; not LSE. He stated how their marking never led to missing grades by just a mark. They always set this limit which is +/- 2%, so that people always get, say an 82% or a 78%, rather than a 79.5 or an 80.1, etc.
So they fudge the results to make them fit?

I guess, but atleast they don't fudge the students by keeping them a mark off.
How is it fudging the students by keeping them a mark off? If thats what they merited, that's what they merited!

It's a really debatable topic. I just hope nobody is given something that they didn't achieve.
..which is what would happen if you were given 82% if you were really only worth 81%...
