Van Mildert College Questions

Hey this is a thread for people going to Van Mildert College to ask any questions/queries they have! Thanking people who are there already to answer our questions! :P

My question is about mini fridges! how many people do you know have one in their room? I know you're not officially allowed to have them but should i bring one?

iv got one of these at the moment http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=3801&productId=161365&clickfrom=image (bit taller and doesn't have the Budweiser sign on it!)........but im thinking its too big!

Mine was between those sizes. The bigger one is far far too big!!
I found it useful to have one but I can't say whether you should bring one or not.

I never had one, but they are very useful. I can't speak for other blocks but the fridges provided in derwent were awful, ours was mouldy and stuff was often knicked, especially milk.

If you were to bring one you would get away with having it, a girl on my corridor had one all year and nothing was ever said to her.

To be honest i don't really think a public forum is the place to discuss such things. There were rumours but this is not the place to spread them.

Sam was a good servent of the college and should be remembered for what he did during his tenure and not for the circumstances of how it ended

(sorry if that sounded preachy, i'm nice really :smile:

Just a question about keys: will Durham be investing in electronic room doors? (as in like you stick a card in an then you can go in). Bet the expensive blocks such a Deerness have these!

Acutally, for that matter, does any other college in Durham have electronic locks?

Nope sorry, all the room doors have a normal key and the main block doors are keypaded. Not even deerness has any different.
