My friend applied, got to interview. She found it very offputting - was asked questions like "Do you think breeding is important?". The job is in selling advertising space.

I got to interview stage of the process. I wasn't told anything about it beforehand, just sent a form to fill out with academic/work history etc. Turned up for the interview to find about 15 others waiting in the lobby, turns out it's a group interview which they don't warn you of. We got taken to a conference room and they did a little presentation about the job then gave us a massive personaility testing questionnaire to fill out. As we were doing this, we were taken for VERY short one-on-one interviews with the boss. Instantly I knew I'd failed the interview as she was like "so, you graduate in 2009, what ON EARTH have you been doing with your time since then?" She didn't look kindly on travelling. Then after I tried my best to get my pitch accross she just cut me off, shook my hand and closed the door in my face. Extremely off-putting, very blunt and corporate environment, which is what I wanted to work in, but the lady I interviewed with was plain rude.

Needless to say, I didn't get invited back for a one-on-one! Try not to be discouraged though, I'm thinking of reapplying as I would still love to work with a company like Conde Nast. The offices were gorgeous too!

Hi,
I've just sent in my application for the end of June/beginning of July induction for this scheme and was wondering how long it was before you heard back from Condé Nast offering you an interview and if they contacted you by phone or email?
I would love to get on this scheme but given its already May and they've been recruiting since the beginning of March I don't kow how long to hold my breath for waiting for a response!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi Meg2011. I originally applied in January but because I don't graduate until July they emailed me for an interview in February as soon as they started looking for June/July applicants. x

Thanks for your speedy response Laura. What was the interview like, Have you been offered a place? Do you know if they are full for the June/July induction by any chance?

That's ok

I didn't have my interview (was supposed to be at the end of March) because I had an operation on my hand and had to have a month off from university so I emailed them and asked to be interviewed for the in-take after the June/July one so probably won't have my interview until July/August now. Anna1986 actually went to the interview...her response is a bit further up the thread but she explains it well x

Try starting your own thread. This one was started 10 years ago, so the users that were originally posted on here probably still aren't.
