It's a multiple choice test of your abstract reasoning, you have to identify a missing segment of a larger pattern.

http://www.clipsite.com.ar/HOME/Salud/Test/Raven/ (it's in spanish but you don't need to understand it, just on the first page nombre means name and edad means age). it starts out ridiculously easy but gets quite difficult by the end.

48/ 60. Ouch. I'll put that down to being tired!

It's 5am and for a few I couldn't be bothered to work it out/clicked something and then saw the correct one just as I pressed the next button... I'm going to use this as my excuse. I got 49/60 = IQ of 103 :s-smilie: Although apparently that is above average. Also, you didn't say it was timed... I only realised this half way through when I was bored and decided to click the translate button out of curiosity lol

52/60. Due to tiredness, I think.

I knew which two were wrong, the only two I couldn't work out

It gave me an IQ of 130, no idea how accurate that is though

IQ 136 - Im assuming this is different to others because of the time taken, if not then I have no idea.

It was actually pretty easy - I was surprised I got more than 1 wrong (I already knew one of them was wrong).

Never understand how a series of pictures/images can determine IQ, would someone please explain?

IQ is a measure of intellect. Intellect is more than just what you know.

In this case it is not a series of pictures/images, you're not being asked to describe or recognise them individually are you - its the pattern recognition and problem solving involved in these questions. These are important building blocks of the very basics of human learning and understanding, which is what intelligence, is all about. There would be a few other areas tested in a proper IQ test. This is then averaged out across the population, so that the majority is then the norm level of this intelligence, this is what the IQ really shows - and the higher you score, the better you are at these basic concepts that allow us to learn and understand. (supposedly anyway - you could, and many people do, argue that it is all nonsense. I wouldnt go that far but it is not perfect by any stretch)
