my boyfriend is sort of possessive of me...he doesn't like other guys looking at me etc. but i think its sweet. i guess your view point on it depends on how strong your relationship is.

its sweet at first but after a while it gets really annoying!!!!!!!

It's all down to male pride. That's all.
 insecurity? masculine dominance? culture thing? something went wrong in their evolutionary development?

Some of us guys are a little insecure due to previous relationships going wrong due to the lady cheating on us :frown: that's why im a little bit protective over my girlfriend at the moment cause my last 2 relationships ended with me finding the girl going behind my back with good friends of mine.

its not always that though, we just like to verify were your heart lies at different intervals  im sure we all like a bit of reassurance lol :P

mwah!

think about what your saying before you come out with a rediculous offensive statement. SOME men are possessive and if they are its for a good reason such as SOME women treating them badly.

Awww, it's sweet in moderation  And I'd rather loads than none - if your bf doesn't even care if you flirt or even cheat with someone else, that's worse than being very possessive. Cos you see, it also shows what kind of standard they are following themselves (unless they are hypocrites).
Good question. I'm an absolute psycho. Not sure why really.

Why are guys always so possessive?

Because you shampoo using L'Oréal.

Well, that is what you wanted to hear, isn't it?
Because you belong to them. I know I wouldn'tr be happy if someone c ame along and stole my property.

Friends of yours? That's absolutely awful... did you at least confront your friends?

This is off topic but I think a lot of girls are insecure about their social reputation more than anything: if they can get away with it without anyone knowing, they might be tempted. Whereas with guys, the reputation is less of a problem. You know the typical "fear of being seen as a slut". There's also a very clever (and very nasty) convincing technique than guys sometimes use "Noone will ever find out" because half of the fear is there.

Fortunately, there are enough girls with a conscience who are not only bothered about people finding out...

Could be a variety of reasons. He might love you loads and just wanna keep you all to himself. I know the feeling. Or else maybe it is the complete opposite and he doesnt trust you. We need to know the guy to answer why he is possesive.

polythenepam - is the guy you are talking about your boyfriend or a random guy? They might just be being protective, and as a boyfriend shows they care, and if it upsets you try talking to him about it. But if it just a random guy, he has no right really, even if he's being "protective" - it's probably more a jealous thing. Guys probably go through the same problem because alot of girls may be possesive to some extent of guys too

usually its cos the guy is shook that his girl is gonna get taken away from her.

i've noticed it's down 2 insecurity. also it happens loads in university!!

bare insecure average guys holding on to their girl for dear life cos there's a wide range of fashionstas and top boys around the campus
