The best reply I got in a shop was that Imperial College wasn't a university! And that was a shop in London too!

Is the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) any good?

Not really, if the shop only does NUS discounts and not general 'student' discounts. I highly doubt that not having an NUS card will seriously cause you to lose lots of discount (how often do you eat at Pizza Hut or buy clothes at Top Shop?)

If you really want to get an NUS card, you can... illegally... through ebay. Its sent you to blank, and you fill in your own name and university. Costs about 2 pounds.

The ISIC card is only good for tourist destinations, overseas, and for student flights (and even then, you can just show your IC card at the STA agency @ college).

You can also get a legal card! Goto the NUS site and get an associate card!
