I got an offer for Whitworth yesterday, was my top choice too.

It's for Thorncliffe House, anyone else heading there?

Dilworth House, flat 23 i think. Although it's a fine number, they've taken away the washbasin and put t'internet in instead. If you see someone with an immensly grubby face walking around, thats probably me. *grumbles*

trouble is though if everything's in the one room, won't there be a bit of a lack in privacy. I hear there are two showers in the bathroom...yikes!

not really, you'll find most people have totally different schedules so its rare u won't be able to get the bathroom to yrself! anyhoo the showers are like a cubicle within a cubicle, with hooks for hanging stuff up so you can go in and out clothed if u want :p: i usually just went in n out in boxers and threw me towel over me shoulder

so they're not knockin derby down this year then! i think some derby flats have washbasins, you can tell by how much rent you are paying. i'll warn you that derby isn't refurbished (unless they've done it over summer) and the carpet and paintwork is errrr interesting

also you'll have one bath and one shower, and four washbasins. there will be 8 rooms in your flat, not necessarily 8 people though, depends how full whitworth is. plus some foreign students disappear after christmas

hey thanks very much. Is it very likely that you would be able to change rooms within whitworth park? I would just prefer to either have refurbished or wash basin rather than neither lol. Thanks very much people though for answering my questions.

people swap about all the time, best chance will be over christmas though, when some internationals go home. we had two empty rooms for most of the 2nd semester!

Upon the 17th September, I shall be shipped from my humble roots in Blackpool (..yeah) to the great land mass that is Manchester. I shall be lost in an overwhelming tide of opportunism, fortune and gusto. (see, i didn't even mention alcohol once.)

As of yet I have towels and a kettle, some serious purchasing to be done.
I'll also be doing a degree, which'll be nice. Optometry in fact!

Soon after we arrive, Super Furry Animals, The Go! Team and Ladytron will be playing at the Academy's. All three being well worth a watch:smile:

Cool, another Furries fan. I think you'll be missing the gig if you're heading to Manc on the 17th. I heard it was on the Thursday before you come like ( the 15th), unless it's been moved, which would be amazing.

Crikey! you're right. Shame I can only move on the Saturday then, would have been a fantastic way to start 'Uni Life'

...of course she ended up dead."
