Doorsafe?

Hi there am heading to York this year and found this site so helpful for all sorts of info for York. Looking at all the info for Freshers week and events at Uni I was reading bout 'Doorsafe' that they were the Student run group who work the door at all campus events. I was just wondering from students already there what that was like and whether they did a good job and stuff. Seems like a good idea to be honest having students looking after students but wondering what the consensus was.

Realise this is an odd way to start TSR career but different I'm sure you'll agree!

Doorsafe is just student bouncers. They deal with all the drunkards. They're fine as long as you don't annoy them. Most of them are from the rugby team so as I said... don't annoy them. :smile:

damn you. But really, I've never seen them do anything more than telling people that no, you really do need a wristband to get in. Seems a pretty cushy job if you're a bit of a big lad (or girl). Better paid than bar work, and you don't have to do anything but talk to the other doorsafe, cos York's so full of passive, happy people.

lol. if you say so. doorsafe is okay. downside is that none of them are professionals. good if you know them though. always one sober person to talk to if you end up being the most sober person around and have to look after everybody.
