What if UCL offers aren't met?

I got an offer from UCL for psychology of AAA.
I do Maths, Art, French and Physics
My AS grades are AABC
but my predicted grades are A*A*AA (due to upcoming resits)

I was confident in getting 3As, but now as the exams are nearing im freaking out. Im sure i can get A in Maths and Art (most probably A* in one or both), but with french and physics im becoming not so sure, Im afraid if get no more than a B for either.

with an offer of AAA, if i get A*A*BB or A*ABB is there a chance will they still take me?
I know psychology is a very competitive course, this fact is what brought on this entire case of self doubt in good grades in the first place. :woo:

Psychology is overly-subscribed, and to be honest, I'm not too sure. They receive some excellent applications. With A*A*BB, you may be accepted. With A*ABB, I doubt it. They're very strict on grades, and generally prefer an all-round performance in your A-levels.

Subjects that are over subscribed usually make more offers than they can fulfill. Usually there is no exceptions if you miss the grades. I wouldn't keep your hopes up though.

I'd just work my arse off to get the grades if I were you! No point relying on them letting you in if you miss your offer slightly, might as well channel those thoughts into putting yourself in a positive state of mind and feeling better about yourself so you do end up getting the grades you're predicted!

I thought about this, and for UCL I think it's pretty unlikely they will let you in with anything less than what they ask for, even if you are doing 4 subjects and get equivalent UMS. Although there are always people dropping out at last minute for random reasons, so some people are bound to get lucky.
I've heard that Bristol last year let some people in for Psych with lower grades though, but doubt UCL.

I have a UCL Psychology offer too btw so maybe see you there =D

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I saw Paddy (A current UCL student studying IMB) say that the head guy for IMB said if anyone misses their offer then they won't get in, and I'm also pretty sure he said it will be the same across the board at UCL.

Its one of the top uni''s in the world and this year has seen more applications than any other, so as Its been said above, its probably just best to get the grades :p:

last year a senior from my school had a condition of 666 (IB) in her HLs and she applied for psych. but she ended up with a 665 (with the 5 not in psych) and they still took her. but then again, that was last year ^

This year admissions have told each and every department that if you do not meet or exceed your offer then you will not get a place. End of.

**** off, you're the one posting irrelevent and downright misleading posts about things you know nothing about. People could have seen your post and thought it meant they got into UCL when in fact they did not. You can't go around answering questions you don't know the answer to, it's a waste of the OP's time and a waste of yours.

So no, I won't ****ing be told to lighten up. You on the other hand can either stop posting mindless rubbish or **** off :h:

But more importantly, did she meet her offer or not?

Doubtful, considering I started my degree in 2008 :h:

Oh and that leads me onto another point. DON'T ****ING REVIVE OLD THREADS FOR NO REASON.

Stupid bint :ahee:

EDIT: actually no, she HASN'T gotten in yet, because she won't have gotten her A Level results yet. Someone needs to brush up on their reading skills :mmm:

it isn't A levels, its IB. and she's my senior, she's in her second year. so yeah, you do need to brush up your reading skills.
and there's no reason to not revive old threads for no reason. and if you have such a big problem with it, I suggest you stop reading.

no she didn't. she needed a 666 but she got a 665. but the 5 was in english, not psych (the course she's studying now)
but, of course, that was last year, and paddy says that it won't happen this year. oh well, unlucky us :frown:

And I'm in my 3rd year now :curious:
I wasn't talking about your friend dumbass, my post referred to the OP (original poster). As I said before, your friend's situation is completely and utterly irrelevent in this thread and only provides false hope.

And YES, there IS a reason most people do not revive old threads. It is because they are useless and clog up the forum.

You just continually fail to make any sense. Feel free to piss of now :h:

Why don't you stop :troll:ing and do something useful...right now you're clogging up the forums
And I'm sure if the OP gets a grade not far off from the offer she'll be fine so why don't you feel free to piss off.
Have a good day
