We have an official thread to post our results in, so why not keep things nice and tidy and have a seperate thread for discussion?

thanks for that, i really appreciate it! However i have a problem, not with my results, but with a friends. He is a really good student and always gets as/a*s. So he got his 6 gcses results for ccea today and he got 1a*, 3as and 2bs. He is really depressed but i keep telling him his results are brilliant. However the problem is, his Bs are really high, like 1 mark off an a! Also in two of his as, he is in the region of 1-5 marks of an a*! Should be get them remarked? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I was thinking he could get it remarked, but he'll have to sign a contract because he could potentially end up with a mark lower than the first time - ie more depression! Only advise remarking if your sure theres been some sort of mistake somewhere.

thanks for the help. Another problem he has told me is that in one of his subjects (art) which he is extremely good at, like hes as good as me, if not better than me, and i got full marks in art, well he got a B! He got full marks in his exam, but in his coursework he got quite a low mark and hes coursework was a* standard. Even the art teachers had told him he was going to get an a* all year long, and they were the ones who marked it and he got a B! He spent hours on this subject and he really wanted to do it for a level, but now hes doubtful what he can do. Could there be a mistake?

I did CCEA also and got 3 As, 4 Bs, and 1 C so far. However, the 4 Bs were all within 6 or 7 marks of an A (a couple were only 3 marks away). Should I bother getting them re-marked, or is it not worth it?

    Thanks.

Its a tricky one - if he really is close to getting the next grade up then it might be worth it because it would take a lot to go down a grade but not much to go up. Therefore he is more likely to go up than down (if anything at all)! In the meantime remind him that his results are brilliant as they are, as those results are way above the national average! Hope it works out for him

Ahh, just been reading through Edexcel Geography B Examiner's Report and from the little I could remember about my exam, I feel pretty confident from what was detailled in the report! God I can't wait! Just 7 hours and 59 minutes to go for me!
