WJEC GCSE English Language Paper 2 any tips?

Hey. I kinda struggle with paper 2 for english language i just can get my head around it! I have paper 1 sorted but can anyone help me with some tips for paper 2?? Thanks x :smile:

I did this last year, remind me on what paper two involves? is it the bit where you pick a title/topic etc and write a story on it? ;D

Section A - Analysing (50 minutes)

When looking at non-fiction texts, you need to consider the following:
-Audience (who specifically a piece of writing is written for)
-Purpose (why a piece of writing is written)
-Layout (what is significant about the way the text is arranged on the page)
-Structure (the organisation of the ideas on the page)
-Language/stylistic ideas
-Tone

Each answer should be about a page and a half. If a question refers to one of the above, then focus in depth :smile:

Section B - Writing (70 minutes)

Compared to Paper One, there's no choice for what you have to write.
You could be asked to write..
-Formal letter
-Informal letter
-Report
-Article
-Review
-Leaflet or brochure
-Speech or phone-in

At least one task will ask you to include your opinion about a topic or issue, I use this structure -
-State opinion clearly prgh 1
-Use middle paragraphs to explain in detail
-Mention opposing view
-Repeat opinion in last paragraph. Try to be one-sided and not change opinion half way through!!
