Your right, there is nothing to worry about. Im sure we've all had it done before!! I had mine done yesterday. Was meant to be Menningitis then the nurse said 'while we're here we might as welldo the MMR top up in the other arm'!!!

Im sure the swelling will go down eventually though...

I've got asthma and I'm advised to take the Flu jab. Problem is it gives you flu (I only found out last year) - poo.

 Did you intend for that to rhyme?

Have any of you started to get your text books or are you going to wait until you get there?

Yeah I usualy get the Flu jab due to my asthma, but I can't say I've ever contracted flu from it. Sounds a bit obsurd that they'd be giving a jab to millions of the elderely that would cause them to catch flu and die, but maybe you've uncovered the government's cure to the problem of life expectancy and the pension moneypot

Lol. Let me rephrase: It gives me flu I got flu last year a week after the flu jab - the nurse said it was just my body reacting to the formation of antibodies.

I don't think its has a 'live' element to it, thus meaning not everyone does get flu with it.

Mario, I haven't started. I saw the online reading list and I think there's six core books. I think it's better to wait until we come into contact with second years willing to sell it cheaper. Also, if that fails we could try ebay.

Amazon 2nd hand books! (I think i say this everywhere to do with text books) Go go go!
Ok, the jab is all done without too much of a fuss. Just wanted to say goodluck to everyone for moving in on Saturday, and I am looking forward to meeting you all. I hope you are not having as many problems as I am with packing, ie. trying not to forget anything and then getting it all to fit in the suitcase!

You've started packing already?? I plan on doing it in an hour or so on Friday.
I have been cursed with being super-organised I am afraid.
Reply 91
I too am organised. Which is why it won't take long on Friday. How come you're online on this forum, but not online on msn?
Oh I always 'appear offline' for some reason, just a habit. Some people ALWAYS want to talk... yourself excluded, of course!

I haven't really started packing so to speak, but i've put aside most of my things into another room so it'll just be a case of packing it all up when friday comes, and loading it into the back of the car. I'm bound to forget something though, as at the moment I feel like "university is ages away", and then I look at the date and realise it's only 4 days ><.

I'm super disorganised! Woo! I've still got mountains to do...

I had my jabs yesterday - 1 in each arm. Right arm's fine, left one is bloody sore and I'm not a happy bunny. I think I have a tendancy to tense my arm as I'm being injected which means I feel like I have a permanent 'dead-arm' for at least a day.

Don't even get me started on blood tests - last time I had one, they had a wet flannel on my forehead and a fan blowing at me afterwards .
You people living in England and driving all your stuff to uni are so lucky! I've been packing for a while now, leave the day after tomorrow and I'm so over my baggage limit its ridiculous! Gonna have to pay excess baggage I suppose...silly planes...Stupid heavy things in my stupid suitcase :p: At least I'll be easy to spot on the 24th, I'll be the girl struggling up the stairs in Kingswood 1 with two insanely huge suitcases

Where do we get our keys from?
'Holloways', apparently they will direct us from Athelone reception...

Which are the halls that got knocked down? I thought they were athelone and the one next to it, known as the "new halls", but maybe it was just that they were about to be knocked down.
