Only go to sleep when you're very tired?

I have the same problem. I lie awake and think for ages - it depresses me.

Just try doing other things so that you only go to bed when you are sleepy (note sleepy, not tired).

The only way to stop thinking is to die. I don't recommend trying that in any way.

Try and tire yourself out during the day or read a boring ass book before you go asleep.

Doesn't work, i'm afraid to say. As soon as i stop doing whatever i'm doing, and try to sleep, no matter how sleepy i am, i just go and start thinking again.

As soon as i go to bed though, i start thinking, no matter how sleepy i am. My mind decides to just wake me up, so it can torture me by thinking for hours.

Well i don't want to stop thinking permanently, just when i'm trying to do something, or trying to sleep.

I think alot during the day too, but as i said, i end up being really clumsy, and not able to pay attention to anything, because i am thinking.

Basically, i think way too much, especially at night time, when there isn't anything else to occupy me, and its getting to the point where it is disturbing my sleep severely, and making me lose concentration while i am awake, so i am even more clumsy than usual  .

Does anyone know of any way to stop thinking?...

Have sex. Then there's no need for you to think anymore. Seriously release helps me sleep

Wine doesn't seem to have any effect on me at all, which is surprising because i drink so rarely.

I completely know where your coming from, are you thinking about stuff in general or things that worry you?? I could never get to sleep becaue of the same problem and had to wait till I was knackered to fall asleep. I won't say there is a quick fix and without knowing your whole situation its hard ot knwo what to do, but anyways all I can say is that its a gradual process and a few months on I switch the lights off and im gone

After  you get a bit apathetic --> less thinking --> easier to sleep

Maybe that's just because I think about girls/sex mostly before going to sleep, you might be different but just try it ^^
