You could use Paint, depending on what version of Windows you have.

Or there's Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, the GIMP, all sorts...

Thanks guys!!

I have already tried it in Photoshop but I cannot edit it (when I use the Text icon, a larger dash than the font size appears). Paint doesn't do the job either.

What are you trying to do with it? Sounds daft but I use powerpoint for producing simple layered images then print screen to flatten them and then the crappy graphics package at work to convert the bmp to jpg (simple eh - now if only I could pursuade work to buy a half decent graphics package for us mere mortals (the press bods have photoshop))

I have no choice but to use photoshop. As for morals when I get a job as a developer I will need to buy the full version anyway.

I don't download any MP3s but there is no way I can afford all my softweare to legal it would cost me £1000's evne for the student versions.

If you need to convert jpg text to editable text then you're pretty much buggered - unless you want to print it out and use a scanner with a decent OCR package.

My theory is, that the threadstarter is trying to attach his/her head onto a sexually attractive body, but thats just me and my cynical mind.

you can use a hex editor and edit the picture bit by bit. Warning can take a long time.

I use paint shop pro 5, basically because I go that thing off a magzine

Do you have a printer and a scanner?

If so then download one of these OCR packages: http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.ht...ocr&tg=dl-2001 print out the pages you want to edit scan them in using OCR, edit and then transform them back into jpgs.

Same with the software, but I use Kazaa for MP3s but I've been getting some of the best music on CD recently.

If I got student Microsoft Office it'd be £100 which is too much. Pity I can't get extra-extra-extra discount because my mom and dad are both teachers so they'd qualify for the discount too.

For freeware, GIMP is probably better:
