Is anybody having as much trouble with this as me?
Anybody got any ideas for an exact method that could be used? I know that Hydrochloric acid could be used, but not exactly sure how!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

The question is to determine the % purity of magnesium ribbon, that has a layer of corrosion containing magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide.
You have to find out if the corrosion actually contains any magnesium carbonate, and find the % purity by mass of the Magnesium in the ribbon, using an acid.

Cheers!
