Re: My chances of coping

I'd kind of like to ask the same question as the thread starter. I was always good at maths throughout school and I also want to be an actuary. I only got 60% in the actual exam in Higher but that was with a hard paper on a bad day for me. In the Prelims I got 70% and 73% respectively but my appeal for an A failed. Out of all my Highers last year, Maths was the one I thought I was guaranteed to get an A and as it turned out it was actually my worst result.

I'm doing AH this year and got 48% in the 1st prelim and 78% in the 2nd prelim which I'm very pleased with. I'm doing Maths and Stats at Glasgow later this year (unconditional) with a view to getting the Stats degree and becoming an Actuary that way. Am I likely to succeed or crash and burn like so many others?

It all comes down to how hard you're prepared to work. If you want something enough you'll get it.
