Chemgirl,
I'm not exactly sure what you want to know about Butler Court. All the information is available on the student accommodation website.

My view on the matter is slightly bias because I've lived there for a year and I'm on the committee who help to make your life there more enjoyable.
So here's how it goes...

Butler Court is a hall of residence located in East Park. It consists of 3 buildings and 6 blocks; A-F.
Each block has 4 floors; Ground to third floor and each floor is split in to 3 flats, A,B and C.
In each flat there is a kitchen (fair size) and 3 bedrooms.
Each bedroom consists of a "wet room" en-suite, two desks, two beds, two wardrobes, and two people.
The sharing part is the bit which obviously puts a lot of potentials off the hall, but we are trying as a committee to try and get rid of this fear because everyone who comes to Butler Court finds that the hall spirit is really good and most people's roommates end up being their best mate.
You have to remember that everyone is in the same boat. Your potential roommate is having the same fears about having to share a room with you, but if you're both willing to give it a go then you will realise that it's actually a bonus that you make an instant friend for company during freshers week!!
The hall also has a large common room with pool table, tv+dvd (looking in to Sky possibility) and table football table and cd player. It also has a laundry room and on-site reception.
At the end of it all if you still are really having problems then you can contact Imago who will try to re-accommodate you, and this will probably mean you being moved to Falk-Egg anyway because that is the ghetto!!

If you have any more questions that I haven't answered let me know.

Hello, I am 21 and I will be an Erasmus student for 4 months. I have accepted the offer from Butler Court and I really find it very interesting (but I haven't any other choices because of Erasmus).
I hope to see you there chemgirl and wizz_darlo...

well my mate Michelle is going into butler court and anyone sharing with her is lucky cos shes lovely and will get on with anyone so i'm sure anyone whose put down sharing as a choice will be fine! I just never did it because i like my privacy too much and need time out sometimes!
Do boys ever share a room with girls?

No they don't. Rooms and flats are single sex.
If you come back in the second year you can share a flat with the opposite sex but not a room.

Hi there,
What type of single room are you in?
Over the summer, Imago were building new types of single rooms in B block, which were single rooms with double beds and en-suite. There are more than 4 of these rooms.
If you are in one of the new ones then you are lucky 'cos they're going to be beaut but they don't come cheap.
These rooms won't be in the same flats as the shared rooms, in the flat it will only be single rooms.

Hi,
I'm afraid those are the only rooms I don't know much about. Like you said, I am aware that there are only a handful of these rooms. I believe they exist in A Block which is populated mostly by sports scholars. Although I can't be sure of this.

Good stuff Lisa, we look forward to welcoming you to Butler Court.
Just a note for freshers week, bring stuff to be able to do fancy dress in. Such as beachwear - not too hard and doctors and nurses kit! Last year we also had cowboys and indians, and toga party. It's always better to be prepared because if you really want to make the most of freshers week you don't want to be running around Lufbra town during the day trying to find a shop where you can buy a costume!
Also get involved in Loughborough Students Rag because it's great!!!

See you in September!

As I applied through clearing, it's unlikely that I'll get a place in halls. But Butler Court seems like really nice halls, so I was wondering if any of the committee members could pull some strings, so that I can stay there??!!

You should get a place eventually in halls eventually, even if you do go through clearing

Who cares if your going to have a theme night, for Hey Ewe just get a group of friends together and dress up. Loads of people do it. And I'm all for girls dressing as nurses.
