What policies would you institute if you had the chance?

    Below are mine:

    1) Cease all welfare

    2) Remove all troops from overseas countries

    3) Re-negotiate the UK's membership of the European Union

    4) Repeal all anti-discrimination legislation

    5) Reduce the size of government to a maximum of 10% of GDP

    6) Repeal the income tax

    7) Institute a national sales tax

    8) Cease all foreign aid

    9) Support full reform of the House of Lords

    10) Make the Royal Prerogatives full legal powers of the PM

    11) Create a PM Powers Act

    12) Remove all regulations on business

    13) Abolish state-run education

    14) Abolish state-run healthcare

    15) Legalise all drugs

Oh, you want to go back in time.
That golden age of widespread poverty and disease...

And, rather randomly, liberalise drug laws.

Have you got a thing for the victorian era?

    1) top rate tax on those earning £100,000 or more of 50%

    2) increased minimum wage

    3) codified republican constitution

    4) nuclear disarmament

    5) abolition of private education/healthcare and more spending on the education system and the NHS

    6) abolition of the House of Lords and Monarchy. Replace Lords with a 50% elected, 50% appointed on vocational basis

    7) increase foreign aid and drop the debts of all developing people

    8) support reform of the UN and EU though reforms which would give more powers to the UN if it was made more democratic

    9) increased taxes/fines on companies that pollute the planet or exploit their employees

    10) only fight wars with troops under UN control when approved of by a majority of UN members and in a humanitarian crisis

a whole lot of stuff that I won't waste space by pasting
Apart from one little thing, namely that it's not our place to "give powers" to the UN, I heartily agree.

You could have just summarised it as:

    1) anarchy

I'd like to add that I would now ban all animal rights groups after the appalling actions I read they undertake to save some Guinea Pigs or something (exhuming a corpse?!!). Unbelievable.

That act was unbelieveable. Isn't banning all animal rights activists because of extremists like you saying ban Islam because of the 7/7 bombings, oh wait...

No I don't, however I've also got a nasty case of Flu so all the drugs I'm taking might be making me think "straight" for once?

Well, it's not the fault of the animals that some group of hippies dug up Grandma. Why should you ban the peaceful animal rights groups? The people who were responsible for the damage probably weren't even members of animal rights groups.

They might as well be labelled terrorists (terrorism is after all " The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property") they intimidated, sent death threads, exhumed bodies yet there is nothing the Police can do?

You really have to worry about society when people have nothing better to do than to make a whole families life a misery because of some Guinea Pigs which I might add will go on to help us find more cures for diseases.

Makes my blood boil. If we don't ban them what can we do?

We don't ban Islam, we ban the ones that preach the extremist views. I propose the same measure for Animal Rights groups. Greenpeace? Ok, I guess. People threatening others with death (they'd rather kill a human to save a Guinea Pig?!!!!) and exhuming dead bodies should be punished to the full extent of the law.

I don't have any groundbreaking solutions, but banning them will not solve the problem.
