Does anybody know the most successful college for law in cambridge out of:

Downing
Trinity Hall
Magdalene
St. John's
Gonville and Caius

Thanks.

In terms of reputation, I'd say Caius.

In terms of Reputation I was under the impression that it would be Downing... considered by some as 'the law college' they have the very well-loved and respected 'Hoppo and Virgo' duo and everyone seems to rave about a Downing Law Degree.

I understand it is also the most competitive for Law in terms of applicants to places ratio.

I know that the teaching at Downing is very highly regarded but facilities for one of my interests- singing, is quite limited. However, I am not sure of the quality of teaching at Gonville & Caius compared to Downing. Caius is a very wealthy college and has a very good academic reputation (better than Downing at getting more 1sts)- 4th on the Tompkin's Table...but on the otherhand the quality of teaching at Downing is highly regarded......any advice would be much appreciated!

It's full of really really nice people and the place is wonderful. Plus they (Downing) rejected me but I still think they're the best.

Here's a forum you may wanna go to:

Downing is meant to be good at sport *grin* yeah, ok you sing, so that was pretty useless information but I do try

OH - and singing lots -> big lungs -> lung capacity -> perfect for rowing -> Downings big on rowing

Personally i wouldn't apply to Downing, i've heard the competition there sumthing like 10 aplicants or more to a place compared with an average of 4 or 5. Although it might have a bit of a better reputation for Law its not worth making it so much harder on yourself for. At the end of the day whichever college you apply to you have the same lectures and end up with a Cambridge law degree, not one from ur college. I might be biased becuase i applied to a smaller, less known college, but very able ppl i know got rejected from colleges like Emanuel and Downing
