yup, you'll adjust after a few days. if not they might be too strong, have a word with optician if it continues.

Just got my first pair today, specky wee me! I'm only slightly long-sighted so they're not very strong, but they're making me want to squint and giving me a bit of a headache, is this normal?

Mine took a while to get used to, I mean it sounds like I'm in the same situation as you, slightly short-sighted. I just tried to wear them for longer periods of time and then eventually the headache faded...
Not sure about the squinting thing though

You'll get used to it - your eyes aren't used to being corrected like that. Whenever my prescription changes I have awful headaches for a couple of days, but they pass.

It'll be fine. If you wear them all the time, soon you'll find that you get headaches if you don't wear them.

I love my glasses. Although apparently they make me look like a "cute nerd".

It's definitely normal! I had it for a while, and then like everybody else is saying, your eyes will adjust!

Enjoy! If you ask me glasses are cool - when I don't break them!
Thanks, it's passing a bit now. And glasses ARE cool!

SEXY four eyes I say!

And yes the headaches are normal. I have 20/20 vision but my mum and sis need glasses...but I find girls with glasses hot. I find girls without them hot too, I'm just sayin - don't worry!
This sort of thing happens to me when I get new lenses. It'll pass.

When I first started wearing glasses when I was 11 or something, I hated them and thought they made me look like a nerd. Now I think they're cool. And I used to hate having eye tests but now I love them, mainly because I got a new optician, and she's sort of hot. I must really annoy her though cos every time she puts those big huge glasses on me I go into fits of laughter, I don't know why they're just so funny.
I always laugh when they come right up in your face with the light, it's so embarrassing! We should start a club for Super Cool Glasses Wearers.

I get this aswell.. its really weird

You'll settle into them eventually.
in fact before long you'll totally forget you're wearing them. I once went into the shower with mine on! yeah, you'll get into a routine of putting them on first thing and taking them off to shower and bed.

I'm quite badly short-sighted though so without them I can't see much at all.

i HATED my glasses when i first got them...i was 8 and my 1st pair were huge pink plastic ones which i loathed sooo much!!! but know i love my glasses am helpless without them (iterally cos i won't be able to see a foot in front of me!) and they are no longer huge! they are nice halfrims which i love!....can't picture my self without glasses... though parents say i can get correctional surgery at 20...
I don't think I'd bother getting laser surgery, too expensive, and I find that when I take my glasses off I look too different. Its as if my face loses all definition and becomes some big useless blobby thing.

And friendlyneutron, I've always thought that was funny too, but those big glasses just have me in hysterics.
