I think the grades are good, not crap, not excellent. Tell your friend to be more positive about it.

I'll say "sh*t" [instead of crap] and if it were me, I'd cry myself to sleep...but this is coming from a person who was a perfectionist in high school.

They're fine, people should not let their ego deflate too easily, or inflate for that matter, especially concerning a few letters at the beginning of the alphabet.

Blah, that spoiler got me going for ages, like Pandora's box in pass the parcel ilk

They're good grades. You only need to remember that the national average is a C/D to realise that! Lots of people would kill for grades like hers, and as someone else said, the important thing now is to move on and concentrate on AS-levels.
I doubt anyone would 'kill' to achieve grades like hers

Personally she can get into College, start off at a good course, with the possibility off taking 5 AS Levels with confidence. She has passed all here examinations with a majority of good grades which is nothing to be ashamed off. Especially at a school like mine whereby that result would easily have been in the top three of our little comprehensive.

It's an expression :p: Anyone who would literally kill someone because of GCSE grades is very sad and disturbed! But all the same, her grades are good. Obviously they don't seem that great to people like you with straight A*s, but for others who work their arses off and still only manage Cs, they'd love to get those grades.
