red lines under skin

At top of my legs, both of them....i have some red lines, vein-like, but they're not veins, under my skin - the red is pretty prominent, easily visible to the naked eye. Does anyone here have this, what it is and why i have it? It's quite odd, i suspect my legs aren't as toned as much as they could be....am i carrying too much weight upper legs or is this redness nothing to do with carrying too much fat?

Thanks

it could be stretch marks

Whoaaaa that's freaky - it might be your magical blood.

It sounds a bit like what women get on their tummies when they're pregnant, urghhhhh

Anyway, if you're fat, yeah I would recommend more exercise, maybe get rid of those odd red lines you have.

you can't get rid of them if they're stretch marks, you have to moisturise them daily, and they fade, but they're always there. most people have them from growing, at the tops of your legs, there should be little goldish coloured lines, it's cos your skin has literally stretched

Sounds like thread veins... I have very faint ones. They are supposedly caused by extreme hot or cold, lack of exercise and/or poor circulation. They are basically veins which have collapsed. I suggest you start body-brushing to improve circulation, massage your legs with moisturiser and do more exercise if you want to reduce their appearance (and I'll take my own advice and so the same!!).

I think its probably thread veins - did lots of running last year...but 6 month period of very little exercise - put on bit too much fat, so i started running again 3-4 weeks back...one stage couldnt run 100metres without my lower leg pulling a bit - used to run 3-4 miles 3 times a week last yr, but laziness came in, plus i wanted to put some weight on. Now i weigh heavier - perhaps nearly a stone...and im finding it that little more difficult to run long distances and quicker as a result of the increased weight. It probably is the thread vein, by the sounds of things...hopefully they will go as i step up the exercise.

and no, ace. they're nothing to be ashamed of.

Because you're, I quote, 'covered in them'?

Stretch marks can be self inflicted, in that you eat too much and gain weight massively, however they can be caused by simply growing too quickly, which is way beyond control.

So true. My brother has absolutely terrible stretch marks (just from excessive growth).

no, regardless of whether I have them or not, something that can be beyond your control and something that lots of peoplehave is nothing to be ashamed of.

So how about not assuming that I only say things to make myself feel better and either give some solid advice or don't bother talking.

I was only asking, not assuming, hence the question mark. I already told her that if she's fat, she should exercise more, to get rid of the fat - which is my advice if she has a problem with the fat and if that's the reason for her getting the stretch marks. I'm not sure if it qualifies for 'solid advice', but I can only try my best.

EDIT: I have just realised that, being a Wizard, he is probably male and not female so excuse my 'she's and replace them with 'he's
