fatigue

ok it's been really werid, but lately i've been tierd all the time, it's like if I sat on a chair/sofa/carseat for a moment I feel soo sleepy, the only way to stop this is to keep moving, and if if I wanted to get up, it's like a real effort, I thought It was lack of sleeping hours, but I've slept well this week and yet nothing changed, I don't know what to do ,it's starting to become annoying

dude if you find a cure let me know.

I think mine's due to the fact that I'm torn up three ways from sunday with stress and worry and all of that rubbish I thought I'd finished with. :|

well I have something in mind (the cause) but the it is scary ,I'd rather think it's lack of sleep or stress
and visesh:not more than usual

reading your other threads on eating, i think that might be the cause.

It could be an iron deficiency.

why do people who blatntly have no medical experience always quip in with random explanations?

why is suggesting an iron deficiency random?

and maybe because this is a student forum and not a "qualified doctors" forum?

Granted I'm not a doctor, but I do know that tiredness is a symptom of an iron deficiency.

the problem with having so many intelligent people on this forum is that everybody tries to outwit each other and its just ridiculous.

its quite valid actually. now in this case of course iron deficiency would be high on your list, but i have noticed that half the times people suggest explanations they are very uncommon (yet well known) ones.

Me too.

habosh, what do you have in mind as the cause? It could be so many things, it's impossible to diagnose. Any other symptoms?

:ditto:

@ Habosh: I went through something similar myself earlier this year (around exam time). It was like I constantly needed sleep and couldn't motivate myself to do anything, even simple things like get changed etc. Once it was so bad I sat down to put my shoes on to go over to a friends and fell asleep!! . My Uncle suggested it could have been something to do with my eyesight as it seemed to be worse whenever I read or revised (this could just have been because I couldn't be bothered  ) - like I would always put my head down on my desk and fall asleep over my books and stuff :p: - dunno if the eyesight thing is medically feasible?! Maybe it was just stress as it seems to be mostly gone now (I still sleep a lot though) or maybe it was a growing phase? Are you under a lot of stress and/or growing?

that had happened to me too, I fell asleep on my desk about a month a go or less, hmm I Don't think it's iron defficiency. it's weird, I'm not stressed or whatever, maybe a bit about going to the uni , but not as much as I was 2weeks ago before the results were out

Things that come to mind:

You might have some sort of infection? Like glandular fever.
Diabetes- Although doesn't sound likely because you're OK when you move around??
Chronic fatigue syndrome-
Anaemia- but surely that wouldn't be better when you move around?
Dehydration
Lack of exercise
Thyroid problems
Depression/Stress

Also this website has loads of extra stuff: http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Fatigue_explained?Open

ive got the whole "cant get motivated" thing atm. i think its cos ive had so long off since exams finished; that ive got nothing to actually get motivated FOR. im not a doctor either, but i could suggest things which have been working for me. i make myself a list before i go to bed, of things to do the next day. it started off really simple like "get dressed before 10am" but u can put down realistic targets for u. have an aim, even if it is only to walk to the postbox and post a letter. its something to do, forces u to do something. u can then feel like uve achieved something that day. also the obvious things that have already been suggested, like eat healthily and maybe consider a multivitamin supplement. hope u feel better soon
