Dizziness and non-conected leg cramp

I figured I'd put both my problems in one thread

Dizziness: I've had this for a while, I don't think it's anything serious but I'm just wondering what exactly it is. Sometimes when I stand up I get a headrush or a really bad pain in the back of my head for a few seconds then I'm ok. I don't get it when I'm sitting down, just if I stand up. It's only ever just after I stand up and only for a few seconds. I don't know what it is.

Leg cramps: sometimes when I'm trying to sleep I get really bad leg cramps. This is another thing I've had intermittently (sp?) for years but I don't know that it is. It's only when I'm trying to sleep I get it. I thought it was because of the heat or something but I've tried various things and apparently it's not that (I've had them when I'm not feeling hot at all either) and then I thought it might be dehydration but it can happen when I've drunk loads.

Any ideas? Sorry if it's a bit vague

Could you be anaemic? Do you eat your greens? Prick your thumb until you bleed and drop it on some water... if it floats then, now hold on is it if it floats it's got oxygen so your ok?? Maybe you should just go to the doctor....

water was my problem. Not enough water a day causes dehydration and I used to get exactly the same head rush when getting up from bed.

Eating things with a bit of salt helps leg cramps apparantly, so put some salt on yur chips

yeh a lack of salt can definately cause cramps.

as for the dizziness, i'd say go see a doctor. I had problems with dizziness a while back and chose to ignore it... big mistake as it was my bodies way of telling me i had an infection and i eventaully ended up in hospital. i'm sure it won't be anything major but it rarely happens for no reason, your doctor will probably test you for aneamia and take your blood pressure etc.

Poor circulation could cause both, I think.

Thanks everyone.

I'll try drinking more water and a bit more salt  Both of these problems are only intermittent (sp) though... so I'm guessing it's something I'm doing/not doing every so often. I'll give it a go anyway and see what happens.
