Summer Holiday - putting on WEIGHT...

Every summer holiday, I gain some weight. It is really annoying!!! This holiday so far, I've gained 1/2 a stone! Does anyone else get this? Its not like I've been really inactive this summer.......I walk atleast a mile everyday to get to work, and I eat as much as I normally do - I dont understand why I've still managed to put on weight!! Ok, I have had a bit more alcohol than usual but only like on average an extra pint per week compared to before the holiday!

My brain hasnt really been active in the sense that academically I don't need to do any studying, and my summer job is just mindless packing.....surely this cant this be the cause of my weight gain every summer - the lack of brain activity?

tis simple. you're eating more than you're burning off.

I loose weight every summer - reason is that my parents work all week and i'm very lazy and cant cook for myself so i just eat breakfast and dinner which are both rather healthy (unlike that ***** the feed us at school) .i'm 45kg now just for being a lazy *****.

I dont know why your putting on weight? muscles from all that packing (im not joking)?

I have found university has made me put on weight through eating too many carbs, you might have had too many carbs over the summer as it's easy food to eat/make?
God knows why. I put on weight when I am in the period when summer job is over and awaiting uni

my friend just told me it might just well be related to using your brain....indirectly!!!!! she suggested, when im studying im "stressed" so i lose weight, so in summer holiday im stress free so start to gain weight. Does this sound plausible? I personally do get stressed from exams but to the point of losing weight hmm...

yes, but the only way of gaining weight is by a calorie surplus.
it might be down to the type of foods you are eating.
The same thing with my friend. Indeed, most plausible. I think I probably would lose due to stress if it was not for the additional chocolate bars and sweets at revision time. Infact, I had a hissy fit at christmas and dropped a few pounds
I put on half a stone last summer because I went on like,3 holidays and spent all the time stuffing my face and when I was in the UK all I did was drink!

I've lost a lot of weight this summer though thankfully-by avoiding carbs and doing exercise.Cycling 3 times a week.

Just be sensible about what you eat and do some exercise in future!
I always put on weight in the summer and ill lose it when i start college, but this is mainly because i am just really lazy.
