Hi, Does anyone know if social work students who recieve the social work bursary from the NHS are still eligible to get university bursaries?

I understand the student finance england loans and grants are seperate but I dont know if I qualify for the specific University Bursaries.

Im starting Salford Uni in September and I'm 'apparently' eligible to recieve:
The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship (If you achieve AAB grades at A level or equivalent) = £1,000 for each year
Salford University Bursary - (Students who are eligible for the full Maintenance Grant from Student Finance England) £384
Advantage Bursary - (First year students from Greater Manchester, who are first in their family to go to University and who get the full Maintenance Grant.) = £1000

Thats alot of money, but after ringing Salford uni many times I still have no answers! (apart from one person who thought i might not get anything!!)

I would really appreciate some help!!!
THANKYOU!

I would keep trying to get hold of someone at the university if I were you. More often than not, universities will say that if you are going to receive a NHS bursary, you are not eligible for any bursaries given out by the university itself. Salford might be an exception, but you should hear it from them just in case that money would make a great difference to your accommodation or whatever. You should assume, until you know for sure, that you aren't eligible so you don't overestimate your finances.
