There's a form you can fill in at the back of the Accomodation leaflet (at least there was last year.)

Other than that, it was available for download from the website. Can hunt down the link for you if you'd like.

As an aside, I just found out that the one of our flat mates for next year is no longer going with us. So we have a £45 a week + bills room up for grabs.

Lounge with TV, internet access, shower, bath, washer drier etc...

2 minutes from uni.

Anyone feel free to PM or Email me if you're interested.
Do you guys know anyone doing Disaster Management? If so, have you had any good / bad / indifferent vibes from them?
does look nice

im deciding between cov, salford, liverpool and bradford cant decide!!

thanks for any help!

I'm hoping to start at Coventry this year as a mature student (which probably means my priorities are different) but, if it's any help, I visit Coventry, Salford and Liverpool (the cities, not the unis) fairly often. Of the three cities, I would say that Coventry is definitely the quietest and least distinctive. If the nightlife matters to you as much as the course you're on, Coventry probably isn't the best choice, but, as has already been said, between Birmingham and Coventry there's enough to be going on with. Salford is livelier if a bit faceless and if you're into sport is a very good choice. Having pretty much the whole of Manchester within easy travelling distance means there's shedloads of stuff going on every night and every weekend. Speaking as an ex-Scouser, I would say that Liverpool has the most character, the most variety and is definitely the liveliest. Being European Capital of Culture next year means that there's bucketloads of money being thrown at redeveloping the place. When I was born there, it was a huge grey urban slum whose only reason for existence was to breed enough criminals to justify the huge police force. Now, it's absolutely jumping and it has two unis with well-earned good reputations.
As for Bradford, I've probably only been there two or three times in my whole life so I can't really say. Mind, it is on the wrong side of the Pennines:biggrin:

Singer is easy (like 3 mins) walking distance from the uni, everyone who lives here walks in. I haven't heard any complaints from the OT friends I have along that line no.

coventry has grown and change alot over the years I think. It is what you make of it like any situation, and like any city it has a few rough spots. However I haven't had a problem, the shopping is good, it's easy to get around, there's enough night life for anyone but the hardest of hard core clubbers and tbh there'll be work to do at some point :P

I'd reccomend it  (and I'll be here for the next 3.5 years.)
good luck to anyone with intervuews

i went to the open day yesterday and thought the uni was brilliant so i am going to deff put this as my firm choice. even though i live in the out skirts of cov i am going to stay in accommodation so i can get the most out of uni life. i am torn between Apollo house and singer hall as i heard self catered is a better choice for accommodation. so if any current students give me any info on these two would be brilliant

i went to singer yesterday during the accommodation tour they looked like very cool, and while talking to the tour dude my coach left with out me lol. how sociable is the singer accommodation, and with self catared do you all put your money together and buy in shopping all together or do you buy your own things.

most of the students would have been physio/ocupational health/nursing yesterday, as they had their reading week last week

And yeah, it's a great place to live as a student.

hey can anyone from Coventry please tell me about the "Coundon" area.

Me and a friend have found somewhere that looks good to live next year, and all seems decent, just wondered if it's a good area. It says and i quote

but what are your views on the area?.... it's a slight walk but i'm not fussed about that

EDIT: oh yeah, rep on offer as always

Wish I could help but I honestly have no idea about Coundon.

Come to Stoke! It's full of students and walkable into town.
no problem.. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this (having lived here for 17 years) but I actually have no idea where Coundon even is!

hello! im thinking of putting cov down as my first choice to! (or second not sure yet)
what course have u applid to do?
as you live near coventry what do you think of the place? as i dont live near there, ive heard good and bad things about the place!??

i have applied to do law. and coventry isnt a bad place, some of the city may look dull but this is because alot of the city was rebuilt in the 60's. but they are changing the city to look more modern. some of the areas in cov arent very friendly and they treat you like the corner shop in the league of gentlemen. but that is only some places but compared to some places in birmingham its alot better. but i have never had any trouble in coventry and there may be a few chavs around the city center but they never do anything they just pretend to act hard. not sure about the night life but if you ever get bored of the cov you can go to Birmingham on the train for £3 and go down broad street which is full of places to go. what course do you want to study at uni?

Also we should try and get coventry uni its own sub forum
Reply 137
I did actually ask for information on the proper way to go about doing the "getting a sub forum" thing. I shall dig it out.

It involes having a number of members with over 100 posts, I remember that much.

Hey

I've got a conditional offer from Coventry to do geography. I've been to an open day a while ago and thought it looked really good. Does anyone who is currently at Coventry uni know what the department is like or know anyone who does geography?

Any info woulde be great thanks

Sounds like the BES faculty to me

(Business Environment and Society or something like that)

My faculty  Seems quite well organised, I know a couple of geog. students and haven't heard any of them complaining.
