Me too! First exam of the season!

Remember state symbols when writing equations! That always gets me in mock papers

Good luck!

I'm doing it tomorrow too, just got home and going to crack on with past papers for the remainder of the day. Hopefully, it won't be as brutal as January 2010 Paper (lots of people didnt do too well)

Ah yeah, first exam of the summer.

Nervous times! I just need to make sure I crack empirical formulas, the different colours in the group 7 reactions and ionic equations and all should be ok!

Anybody got any ideas on what's likely to come up?

I'm thinking:
- hydrogen bonding
- structure of diamond
- metallic bonding
- group 2

Thoughts?

Also make sure you know the trends across a period and down a group (1st IE, BP/MP, atomic radii)

I'm resiting this unit and its def a good idea to know them cos you can get quite a few marks on these type of questions

and state symbols and dipoles!! I always forget them so lose silly marks :\

I got a C in Jan too:mad:

Do you guys have to pay £25 for each resit you do too?

I've gone through the whole textbook writing notes and the lack of new syllabus papers is annoying. I have done tonnes of the old ones in class

I doubt hydrogen bonding will come up because it was in the Jan paper. There will almost definitely be something relating to the periodic table whether it is electronegativity, 1st IE energy ro jsut general trends etc...

I think its most likely going to be IE, and bonding to be honest. What can you say about electronegativity; only that it increases from left to right

I don't see why everyone's so worried! It's all GCSE stuff (practically)!
We should really be worrying about Unit 2. Green Chemistry

Its n GCSE stuff.. but it is fairly easy (touchwood). I find green chem realllly bad, but I dont wanna focus on that yet lol. Thats my half term job.

Do we have to know about rutherford and mendeleev and that crap? The green pages?
