I got an offer and my predicted grades were BBC, their standard offer is BBB. LSOPH give out a LOT of offers, but of course not everyone ends up going there, others have LSOPH as an insurance (like I did) and some dont meet the BBB entrance. Im just so glad I managed to meet my firms offer of BBB as I really didnt like LSOPH.

Anyway, back to topic.. If I can get an offer with BBC and their standard offer is BBB then it cant be that hard to get an offer... Although they do have a lot applying.. Funny thing is, when I did Pharmacy work experience at my local hospital a girl there told me of one guy she knew who got into the LSOPH with CCD!!!

Dont let the fairly prestigious name fool you, its not that hard to get into LSOPH. So long as you meet their standard offer

Right, thanks very much for the reply. I must admit, I've not really looked into Universities much (just taking an early interest I suppose). I thought LSOPH would probably be the hardest to get offers for, because it seemed a specialist Uni, but after looking at league tables for Pharmacy, it has become apparent that there are a good 5 other Unis performing better than LSOPH. Regarding work experience, what would you suggest? Maybe I'll start a seperate thread on that actually.

For my work experience I arranged it all myself, I wrote some letters to my local pharmacy but they could not take me on.

I then wrote to my local hospital and thankfully they managed to give me a place.

Thats what I advise, writing letters to local pharmacies or even your local hospital. Always arrange this kinda work yourself, it comes across as more independent when the uni asks you about it.

Good luck! I hope you get the work experience you require. It can be quite important because a lot of other people who I know applied for Pharmacy also gained some work experience, although it was not the deciding factor as to whether they got an offer or not, it still helped.

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on league tables. They vary so much, for example the Times has ranked LSOPH as 10th, whereas the Guardian places it 5th!

The best thing to do is to look at the course details to see whether its something you think you'd enjoy. Then visit the universities you're interested in. If you like the feel of the place, apply! Don't worry about league tables too much

I have to reply to this because the point you made is so important. I really thought that LSOPH was going to be the uni I wanted to study at that... but after I went there my thoughts changed completely.

The most important thing is to go to a uni that you feel you would be happy studying at for the next 4 years of your life. The reputation of the uni should come second to that. Always choose a place that you feel you will be personally happy studying at...
